How can we help?

Short Term Respite (STR)
At Guide Right Support Services, we offer flexible STR to support caregivers seeking temporary relief from their daily responsibilities. Whether it's a few hours or several nights, our STR services are tailored to your schedule and delivered with compassion and professionalism.

You can step away with confidence, knowing your loved one is receiving attentive care and meaningful companionship. We match participants with support workers who share similar interests, creating engaging, enriching experiences that go beyond routine. STR is available 24/7 and can take place in the home, in the community, or in alternative accommodation—depending on your needs and NDIS plan.

Overnight Assistance
Our Overnight Assistance service provides calm, consistent support during nighttime hours. Whether your loved one requires active monitoring or occasional reassurance, our team is there—quietly safeguarding wellbeing while promoting independence.

Each overnight arrangement is customised to the participant’s specific needs, ensuring safety, dignity, and comfort throughout the night. Caregivers can rest easy, knowing experienced professionals are present and responsive.

What is Respite / STR (formally STA) Care?

Short Term Respite (STR) offers caregivers a temporary break from their full-time responsibilities, while ensuring participants continue to receive safe, supportive care. STR can range from a few hours to overnight stays or several days, depending on individual needs and circumstances.

This support not only provides caregivers with time to rest, attend personal commitments, or manage emergencies—it also offers participants meaningful opportunities to engage socially, explore new environments, and enjoy experiences beyond their usual routines.

STR can take place:

  • In the participant’s home (e.g. overnight support)

  • In the community (e.g. day outings or activities)

  • In alternative accommodation (e.g. short stays away from home)

STR is typically delivered in blocks of time—often 24 hours—and must be pre-approved in your NDIS plan. It is funded under your CORE supports and is designed to sustain informal care relationships by promoting wellbeing, independence, and peace of mind.
